SIERRA LEONE
As one of the last countries in world to be hits by the Coronavirus pandemic, Sierra Leone has been brought to a halt like any other countries in the world with the fear of deaths, panics, lockdowns, curfews and a one-year state of emergency.
Organizations like the African Youth With Disabilities’ Network-Sierra Leone has been put on hold by donor partner for fear of not getting an original project impact. Only very view donors supported non-profit making organizations with very small resources only on COVID-19 preventions and the rest are concentrating their supports at the government established structure for the pandemic.
In this view, most organizations have closed down, while others alternate their days of works, with no activities nor payment of salaries for staff and government is not doing anything to support such organizations. If such continues, then most of the local NGOs will fold up and beneficiaries will be out of reach and more burden will be put government as we are completing their effort.
It's really heart rendering as these NGOs are badly affected
