Some years back when we were paid a visit by one of our unfriendly foes Ebola, many would attest to the fact that the military personnel played a vital role in combating the situation, while some health workers were retreating, RSLAF were bringing in reinforcement to isolated areas, it was recorded that the RSLAF during that time undertook arduous tasks, they ensured that within four weeks isolation and treatment facilities were across the country, they rendered great help and commitment in a safe and dignified burial of Ebola Virus Disease [EVD] patients and maintained protection and security.
So it is a welcoming and exciting news the RSLAF received from the Ministry of defence last week that the Sierra Leone government and the National Covid-19 Emergency Response Centre [NACOVERC] has approved the payment of monthly risk allowance to all military personnel with effect from July this year, every soldier is eligible to receive the sum of le 300,000 as risk allowance indicating that they are appreciated for their unending support in containing COVID-19
