Tsunami Kind of In Siera Leone

One of Sierra Leone's most oldest bridge on Savage street, it connects St John and Syke street in the Western part of Freetown, the bridge collapsed yesterday 17th September 2020 at about 5pm on a Thursday evening, having being in existence for decades, it had become unsafe over the years, thereby raising several complaints from residents living within the area for the repair of the old bridge, in the year 2018 the then Sierra Leone Road Safety executive director David Panda Noah, speaking in an interview referred to the bridge as ' a disaster waiting to happen' as determined by the road audits report 2018, because of the mining activities going on near the bridge, considering it being a strategic route for so many people, it was a miracle, that the collapse of the bridge caused no catastrophe as confirmed by the Mayor of Freetown Yvonne Aki - Sawyer.
